CALL FOR STUDENT RESEARCH PRIZE
The Scientific Committee for the European Congress of Psychology 2025 invites nominations for the Student Research Prize. The aim of this award is to recognize an outstanding student research project completed as part of a Bachelor or Masters degree, in the form of a dissertation or thesis. The work of the winning student will be featured in an invited “Student Research Prize” speech and will be acknowledged during the Closing Ceremony.
Eligibility
- The author of the research project must be from a country having an EFPA Full Member, even if they are not a member of that association.
- The project author must have been a student at the time of submission/completion of the dissertation/thesis
- The research project must have been submitted as part of a Bachelor or Masters degree
- The research project must have been graded within 6 months prior to the submission
Evaluation of submissions
Submissions for the Undergraduate Student Prize will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Relevance to the theme of the European Congress of Psychology 2025 conference “Transforming Psychological Science – the 2030 Agenda” and the conference thematic tracks
- Completeness, coherence and clarity of the abstract of the dissertation/thesis
- Creativity/innovativeness of project
- Effectiveness of the research design, methodological rigour and appropriateness of analyses
- Implications of findings for research, practice and/or policy
Award
- Invited presentation of “Undergraduate Student Prize” at ECP 2025 – funded registration
- Acknowledgement of winner and certificate at ECP 2025 Closing Ceremony
Application Requirements
Applications for the “Student Research Prize” will be made through the submissions portal of ECP 2025, where authors can indicate their wish for their work to be considered for the prize. Applications must be made by the Call for Abstracts deadline of 31 December 2024.
The application to the ECP 2025 Scientific Committee must consist of the following fields:
- Name of EFPA Full Member
- Student author name
- Student author contact details
- Institution
- Programme of study
- Supervisor
- Title of dissertation/thesis
- Abstract (up to 500 words)
- Contribution of work to the literature and implications for future research, practice and/or policy
- Letter by the supervisor detailing the work conducted (also verifying that the student was responsible and completed the majority of the required work needed for the project independently), its major contributions and why they consider the work worthy of the Student Research Prize
